Forgive me for being ignorant, but what's the problem with Kane and Lynch?

Basically, theres an inside source saying that the main reason Jeff was fired was because his tone of voice during the review (and the score itself) was very harsh. And that Edios (the publisher or developer) paid a lot of ad money to Gamespot, so they were shocked that they got a low score. In other words, Edios probably thought that they could buy their score.

Heres the review itself which was removed from Gamespot:

Hm dont know who the guy is. Dont read the gamespot reviews. But thats crazy. Not surprised. Those websites are mostly funded by subscriptions or advertisers. And when an advertiser threatens to pull an investment out, then the webmasters have to make a decision. "Lose money" or "make money".

From what I've seen, dont know if it's a bad thing he was fired. His reviews seem iffy.

It's not very good apparently and trying to warn the gaming public at large is a bad thing.

Why is it a bad thing to warn the public?

This has discredited Gamespot for me now. I know most sites are like that, but I used to go to Gamespot to watch the reviews, mostly Jeff's cuz his were the best, along with Greg. So, I guess its Gametrailers for me then. This is soo stupid.

Well...It seems Eidos succeeded in buying off the removal of a negative rating. :redface2:

I was pretty shocked when I heard about this, Gamespot is my go-to place for game reviews, and more than that, writing for a magazine or a site like Gamespot is my dream job, so news like this worries me in more ways than one...
