Gamecube Controller Support Added To Switch Version Of Super Mario Sunshine

When Super Mario 3D All-Stars was released on Switch last September, it had several glaring issues: you couldn’t invert the camera controls. Super Mario 64 was still in the 4:3 ratio even though Super Mario Sunshine was expanded to widescreen. A whole game was missing from the collection (Super Mario Galaxy 2). And you couldn’t play Mario Sunshine with a Gamecube controller even though an adapter exists for that.
We figured none of these problems would be solved because Super Mario 3D All-Stars is a limited-run product, irritatingly set to be pulled off the shelves at the end of Nintendo’s fiscal year (March 31). Looks like we were thankfully wrong, because a patch just went out that address some of the complaints. Inverted camera controls were added to the games today, and not only that, using a Gamecube controller in Sunshine is now possible.
