Game of the Year 2005

My friend and I were discussing it. RE4 seems to be the clear choice, but what about Guitar Hero?

I had my second Guitar Hero party and I've never seen a game like this, DDR included, that has everyone at the party dying to play it. Guys, girls, peeps with rythmn, those without.... everyone played it.

Now, do you think you could get a bunch of your friends together, gamers and non-gamers, to sit down and watch a game of RE4?

What do you think would be game of the year?

Usually things that win the top awards are because of quality, not just pure fun. Look at the Oscars. Otherwise Mario Party would win it year after year.

As fun as Mario Party is, I know for sure that I wouldn't be getting any non-gamers playing that game or a room full of people watching the gamers play it.

Guitar Hero was a game everyone was done with.

You know for sure? Because then you've obviously never owned the game, Keith my friend. Mario Party is the non-gamer's game, the game you break out when you have a girl over. It's the one that gets people playing and invariably gets them to want to come back and play again. Everything you said in the first post about Guitar Hero I could replace with Mario Party and it'd work just as well. Trust me on this one.

well, my vote goes to 3 games goes this honnor, per usual, games released anualy dont really count (Madden and Smackdown are off the list), in no particular order, they are...

Mario Kart DS:
This game really set a standard now for Wifi games. take out the people snaking and such, it really has proven a test of been the ultimate party game, online and offline.

The Warriors:
Wow, an intresting revival of the classic side scroller beat-up games of the past and is one of the most solid games Rockstar had made. If your a fan of thouse games or a fan of the movie, you really should be playing this game.

Resident Evil 4:
I wont repete what everyone else said, but it's one of thouse games where despite how many times you go and play it, it feels fresh and new everytime.

Puts you in the tights of the character, if only for a short while, it's intuitive to control, and personally, I think the story's badass.

Another rule about Game of the Year....is that it had to have come out IN THAT YEAR. Though SO3 IS orgasmically awesome. :laugh: (I love that adjective)

Uhm...suggestions for Game of the Year?

DMC3, Castlevania: CoD, or DoS.
