The first of the brand-spanking new Fist of the North Star movies came out last weekend, felt there needed to be a thread in it's honor

Anyways, for those that don't know, North Star pictures is giving the series the LOTR treatment by having three movies released over the span of three years, fleshing out the whole saga.

MOVIE 1 - Raoh Den: Junai no Shou - 3/11/06
Yuria Den OVA - Spring 2006

MOVIE 2 - Raoh Den II - Winter 2007
Toki Den OVA - Spring 2007

MOVIE 3: Kenshiro Den - Spring 2008

You'd be surprised. Thye just had the special with the voice actors and the creator of the manga and holy crap, the new seiyuu for Kenshiro is amazing.

I loved Akira Kamiya too but..damn this guy is just awesome.

I've really been looking forward to this. I've enjoyed the 3 新北斗の拳 OAVs so I'm very interested to see how these movies will turn out.

Just one note on the title: it's "北斗の拳 真救世主伝説", which translates to:
Hokuto no Ken (Fist of the North Star) - the real legendary saviour

Here, 'shin' does not mean 'new' (新) but 'real' (真).

Just a side note. Perhaps an admin can change the title of the topic so not to make a mistake with the previous OAV's ( 新北斗の拳 = New Fist of the North Star)

That's just the TV Special that came out the week before the movie. Quality of that is awesome and it's worth the DL if you're a fan. Mainly because they get the original creator, Hara Tetsuo, in a bar with the Editor of Shounen Jump at the time Hokuto no Ken was being serialized and they talked about various sercrets of the saga and even who their favorite characters were.

You also get a peek at a trailer, interviews with the new seiyuu for Kenshiroh and Raoh, both of which completely blew me away when I first heard them, and the introduction of the new original character Reina.

Now what'd be awesome is if a screener actually DID show up because dammit i wanna see this movie >_<!

Good luck..chances are you'd prolly get a cam quality copy if anything. DVD release for the first movie hasn't been announced yet..mainly because it just came out last weekend. The special is out there though. If you hit up Tokyo Toshokan, you're bound to find it raw.

In the meantime, I'm watching this..namely the final fight.
