First-Time Gif making seeks advice

So i learned how to make Gifs yesterday, but i could use some advice from the more seasoned of Digital Artists.

I tried to make a larger version of my current avatar, as i think it's a little too small (that was my very fist GIF), but it wound up being away too large in filesize.

Here it is:
[HIDE]
BF2.gif
[/HIDE]

My question is can i reduce the file size without or only minor resizing?

And any other tips for GIF making are welcome (I'm using GIMP 2.6.11 btw)

This is the site that I use to reduce the size of my GIF's, all you need to know is on that site:

http://www.gifreducer.com/index.html

However if the quality is off on the converted result that you want to use then you'll have to do some re-sizing in the program you're using to make your GIF's.

Thanks Mach, but it's too big even for that.
It does have an Ungodly amount of frames (almost 200 easy), i guess that might be why.

I'll try another later and see.

Easiest trick that I have to reduce the sizes of GIFs is to reduce the number of frames within them. Just eliminate every other frame and then slightly increase the time delay interval between the remaining frames (e.g. if the time between intervals was .01 seconds originally, after deleting every other frame increase it to .02 seconds). Now granted, you'll have to play around with the time intervals to get it set just right. Also, the animation of "reduced frame" GIF will not be as "smooth" as the first, "full frame" version. Can't really be helped, especially if you're trying to work within specific size limits.

Another thing you can do is reduce the colour palatte from 256k (which is the highest), to 192k, as well as the amount of what's known as the "dither" of the GIF. Again, this is something that you'll need to play around with to see how much of an effect the adjustments have on the overall filesize.

There's no one, single thing that you can do/go to that will make a GIF work in a situation like this. Dimensions, colour palatte, dither, number of frames all will have an effect, so you have to deal with all of them when making your adjustments. It can be a time-consuming process (that's part of the reason why it would always take me several days to do up the GIF batches I did for DCD), but as long as you have a definitive idea of what you want the final product to look like, as well as an idea of what you are willing to get rid of/what you really want to keep, you'll be able to get it just how you want it.

The easiest way is to optimize and combine. You keep every frame so it doesn't look bad. The bad thing is that it takes more memory to make them and they open separate so you need to get every part right before moving forward. You can also adjust your overall saturation level. If it gets closer to black and white, the filesize will decrease.

I might be able to do this for you tomorrow if I remember to do it. I know I forgot to make someone else one and now I even forgot what it was.
