[Video Game] Fire Emblem: Awakening.

I'll have to do that. This time I'm paying more attention to leveling and abilities.

On my second play through, I had Chrom and Sumina as her parents.

I made Sumina a Dark Flyer so she could pass Galeforce to Lucina, and she inherited Aether from Chrom.

Then I class changed Lucina into a Calvilier and upgraded her to a Great Knight so she could learn Luna.

And she pretty much clears the field pretty quickly.

Both times I've had Sumia as mother, I just haven't gotten to Lucina in my second game yet. I'm leveling everyone first by grinding them before I move to the new chapters.

Would you recommend reclassing Sumia first, then getting Lucina? I don't know how the inheritance stuff works, but I'm assuming that's what needs doing.

Yeah, I think the parent needs to know the skill in order to pass it along. Otherwise the only other way to learn it is by re classing them.

The child aspect was something I wasn't expecting the first time, so I was just winging it. I'm trying to actually make the inheritances worthwhile this time.

And get blonde Gerome.

Blond Gerome (by way of Libra) makes me wish you can change either the kids' names or the color of their portraits because he makes a perfect Char.

And for the inheritance thing, the kids usually get a combination of both parents stats and whatever was the last skill they acquired during the chapter you obtain them in, so if you want Donnel to be the father so that he can pass on aptitude to one of the kids don't level him past 15 or class unless you reclass him back to Villager level one at some point to relearn aptitude.

That's why I'm going for blonde Gerome.

Would it be more worthwhile with Vaike or Libra? I'd heard Vaike will make him blonde in one location, but what would be better? Or wouldn't it matter?

Depends on your taste Libra is more platinum but also makes it easier/quicker to get Gerome with the Renewal skill, which isn't really necessary but I am of the belief regenarting health is always a plus especially if you are insane enough to be playing Lunatic. His other class options usually lean toward magic so Renewal is the better option for any of Libra's offspring.

Vaike is more vibrant yellow gold, but will probably give Gerome more in terms of attack strength and depending on Vaike's promoted class you could get Counter, Sol or Axebreaker.

So it is really all on what you want from inherited skills or your preferred type of blond. At the same time you could also just go for Henry as the pop for complete white haired Gerome. But due to Henry's stats I'd recommend you being willing to reclass Gerome.

I ended up with Libra, and love the HP regeneration, since Gerome can't take a lot of hits early on, that I've seen. Especially on his recruitment level.

I'm loving Galeforce. Sumia, Olivia and Lucina have it, with the former two as Dark Fliers, married to Chrom and Lon'qu respectively. It's just awesome to rip through the enemies that fast. I should reclass Lucina, maybe. I married her to Gerome, so at least there's flight involved to cover distance, then switch to Lucina and start taking enemies out.
