I've noticed a trend in recent K-Dramas where small towns play a pivotal role in the storytelling. Whether it's the tight-knit communities, picturesque landscapes, or the way these settings impact the characters' lives and relationships, there’s something so charming and captivating about it.
Take "We Are All Trying Here", the way the town's atmosphere heightens the characters' struggles and interactions felt so authentic. Or "Sold Out on You," where the small town's quirks really became part of the character development.
I’m curious, though: What do you all think makes a small-town setting work in K-Dramas? Does it add to the emotional depth, or do you find it sometimes falls into clichés? Are there any dramas where the small town setting either thrived or struggled?
Let’s share some titles and our thoughts! What are some of your favorites that really embraced this setting?
