Engrish in Tokusatsu

Speaking of Engrish in Sentai, all of Japanese will agree on the wrong naming on "Chikyuu Sentai FIVEMAN". Not Fivemen but Fiveman! I thought it's strange name when I began studying English in junior high school.

Incidentally "Dengeki Sentai Changeman" has a shuttle named "Shuttle Base", and it transports the team's mecha. But taking closer look on the side of "Shuttle Base", you can find the sign "SHUTTLBASE"...E is missing...

Frlm what I remember, there was some engrish in Dekaranger such as Deka pink saying Deka Pinku, and when Dekabreak said emergency it sounded like emergen sh*t.

kane kosugi to this day, was the best english speaker in sentai period. But that is because he was born and raised in America. I hear the reason he spoke so much english is because Kane couldn't speak japanese at all during early filming, but they helped teach him as the show progressed

Great to see the tokusatsu pianist here on the boards. :castlerock:

I always thought Fiveman didn't have a problem in English, but in math. If their robot is called "Five Robo", why is it made of only three vehicles?

LOL on the Shuttle Base typo. I'm surprised Shougo B'stard hadn't mentioned it here. :P

that's right, he was in Godzilla: Final Wars.

"Watch it, X man" or was it space man?

either way he was badass in that film. :buttrock:

Gaku/GaoYellow is an obvious choice for this thread, but Makito/MagiGreen and Jiraiya/Ninja Black could speak good English. Another lesser-known example was GoseiBlack in an early Goseiger episode: "GoseiBlue, nice assistance!"

in an episode of the original ultraman, one of the characters has an englsih language conversation on a telephone. i think it was hayata, but i'm not sure.

I know its not toku but I was just watching an episode of Z Gundam and there was a canister which had the word Dangar on it instead of Danger
