Since I've been doing a lot more posing than I used to, having gained access to a nice camera and a new display shelf, I'd like some effect parts.
Now obviously most figures don't come with them. Some do though, and some have effect part packages done up for sale after release (Figuarts Tajador and SIC Tatoba come to mind). But those are always limited and hideously rare and expensive (double or greater the original figure's price in some cases...).
So I thought we could do with a thread that discusses which other (potentially cheaper) ways there are to buy, make, or bum some effects. Some cheap superhero figures you can pick up at Kmart or Target for instance in a similar size to a Figuart or SIC might have some.
Or, I've seen people make them for themselves. There was this nice laminate printed Faiz Pointer effect I saw on a customs blog a while ago. I'd love to make something like that, but have no idea how to print onto a laminate material. Will a copy store like Kinko's (now FedEx) do that?
If anybody has any experience with that I'd love to hear how it was done and what issues might arise in the attempt.
