Being I was really big on Sega systems, and my Dreamcast is still one of my favorites, I myself picked this up waaaay back, though I admit, I mispurchased it thinking it was Super Tokusatsu Taisen 2001 just an updated one for the Dreamcast instead of PSX.
As for is is it fun? It --really-- feels like a Super Robot Taisen game, by Banpresto if you happened to play any of them. As with the usual Super Robot Taisen storylines, this one borders the same, villains from all sorts of series from Sentai, to Kamen Riders and others team up to destroy all the good guys, and of course, all the good guys must come together to save the day.
It even feels like a Super Robot Taisen game, as the game is primarly a "Final Fight" type game, but your characters have movement squares to go in and have special moves which extend outward, like Kamen Rider V1's Rider Kick may target anywhere from the space next to him, too 2 squares ahead. ..If you're unfamiliar with the SRT type gameplay, think.. Hmmmm.. Shining Force, or any of the usual Niphon Ichi games like Makai Kingdom, Disgaea etc.
I don't recall if it happened to be two player or not, but, it's not the best game in the world, but not the worst, it, much like almost all of Banpresto's games are designed for people, who already like the types of games, characters etc, which is what makes it fun. Nothing like constructining your own sentai team of Kikaider, Kamen Rider V1, V2 etc. [If I recall right, every stage you picked like 5 people if you have that many in the story so far] to team up with your adventures.
I never did happen to finsh up.. something else did distract me, but it was fun and I do mean to pick it up again.
Just, it really comes down to if it's your type of game.
