FF11 Does Anyone still Play FFXI?

A few people I know have been saying gloom and doom that the game is on the way to extinction, but I really don’t think Square Enix closing down servers and shutting the door on that many players if that is pure profits coming in. There won’t be any more expansions developed for FFXI. There will be updates, perhaps some add-ons. It wouldn’t be a shock if they don’t end up combining servers together to get servers that have low populations merged together and closing down excess ones that are no longer required.

Free private servers became really well known at some point, though paid retail is still pretty much alive and kicking. I play retail, and administer a private one! We’re called Helix, please do check us out if you’re curious.

Unfortunately I dont although I admit I had the best experience with it and finished all the levels. I prefer the newer versions because of the different, fun and interesting plots and stories. I don't know why but I always prefer the newer versions of final fantasy because they always comes with lots of interesting things.

Everything does have an end. I can't help but feel a ping of sadness. It is awesome though that the game will be free for anyone though for a matter of time and anyone can access it.

The main reson why many people prefer the newer versions of the final fantasy is I think the improvement in the graphics and fixation of minor errors that discouraged some players in the earlier versions.

Not anymore. The reason being other titles are doing lot better. And that can be someone worth to check out as well. So I personally think for some titles the replay value is not much anymore.

It has been a while but I think I will give it a shot. I remember spending hours on Final Fantasy XI the first time I heard about it. It is going to be a great experience.
