I think I was about 17 or 18 when I started cooking for myself.

Since I've been out of the house though, my parents are always willing to make me something when I stop by

Last time the family bitched about them having to do one or two things (each) I went on strike and the house was completely and totally "trashed" and they asked me why I didn't do anything but sit and watch tv all day. Well since I sat and watched tv all day the mess wasn't mine to clean. They pretty much understood that why should mom have to clean up after them if they won't clean up after themselves. Like I now tell them, "I'm your mother, not your maid - I'm not paid."

Bro, I hate to be a dick, but was it your job to clean the dishes? Is that the family chore for you? 'Cause then you should do it, regardless of whether they're mostly your dishes or not. Also, if you were by yourself in Japan, this would be a problem because no one cooks for you there, either.

Still, I do sincerely miss the days when my mom made my dinner. And when I come home on holidays and she does it... I can't express the joy and appreciation.

I've made some dishes on my own, but nothing can match momma's magic. :thumbs:

LOL you only work 1 day out of the week, you don't pay any rent you don't do anything else? I work and go to college full-time. half of the time I leave for work before my mom(single parent family here) and get home after she gets home from work. My mom is 61 now. Even though she's home more often than I am, I still try to help out whatever I can. My mom makes less than I do an hour, our family manages to get by because of our properties and people who rent apartments in them.

And you really need to chill out on that whole "Once I'm gone to Japan" thing. Because first of all, Japan has an expensive lifestyle, do you have any idea what you expect to do there for employment? You don't seem to speak the language but believe you can land yourself a well-paying job that will give you everything you need, which is not true.

You really need to start realizing how much your parents have done for you and are still doing for you. Because sooner or later they won't be there to support you like they have in the past. You really need to get some more responsibilities and start thinking realistically.

I know. If I'm gonna live by myself in the future I'm gonna have to do my own food and clean my own dishes (unless oneday all foods will come in Pill form).

I get £40 a week (dunno how much it is in US Dollars) and only £10 of it I get to save. £20 of it I have to give to my mum, so yeah, I do pay rent, and the rest of my monney I have to spend on transport, and while I'm walking back home I'me gonna become desperate for something to eat or drink, so monney is spent on that too.

Living in Japan is my decision. Plus I'd happily live this expensive lifestyle than living life bored in a miserable old git of a country like England. (sorry to sound harsh). Not to mention I'm already living an expensive lifestyle right now as I only get £40 a week and only £10 I get to save.

I do realize that my parents have done a lot of things for me, and it taught me a lot of things, (one of them is not to raise children of my own). And although they did lots of good things for me, which I really do appreciate, they also did some not so good things to me, and I'll never forgive them for banning me from watching Beavis n Butthead. Naaaaaaaaaaaah, I'm crap at drawing Manga comics so I'm probably crap at writing songs too. And I don't even know what then hell this "Emo" thing means (despite watching an unfunny spoof of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers called "Mightu Moshin Emo Rangers).

At first I though Emo was a character off Sesame Street, until I learned his real name was "Elmo".

Why not get a full time job then? You work one day a week, I'm assuming you don't get taxes taken off. What type of job is it? If I did the math right, it's about $70 that you're making, from one day. That's pretty good, if you had a full time job you'd be able to find a place of your own, no doubt. No offense, but you sound like a seriously spoiled guy. You won't forgive them for banning you from watching a TV show? Forever Knight had a real problem with the floors, this kinda just seems like you not wanting to do as much work as you should. Do you go to school? The second I dropped out, my mom made me find a job and started charging me rent. It took me two years to get my equivalency degree before she stopped charging me, but I still have to pay for the food I eat, the utilities I use, a lot of stuff. And it's nowhere near as cheap as your's seem to be. From the way you word everything, you have it pretty good. Your "rent" is pretty cheap compared to most places, if they wanted to, I'm sure your parents would charge you a much higher amount of money each month.

As for the Japan thing, you do seem to have delusions on how accepting the country is going to be there. Don't expect anything to be easier over there, I can guarantee you that almost everything is going to be more expensive. You'll be working a lot just to make ends meat before you save enough to not have to work as much, and that's if you're able to get a good job.
