I don't know how to feel about the Missy reveal, tbh. On one hand, it now establishes that Time Lords can regenerate as any gender they like and that not having done so in the past doesn't mean they never will; so all fan talk about "it would ruin the show's continuity!!" or "that line about the Corsair was just a joke!" is now proven to be as ridiculous as it always was. On the other, she is now just another one of "Moffat's Gals" and, yeah, that's not really what I wanted for the character
I also strongly disagree with certain critics I've seen saying that this is the only time the Cybermen have been done well since the show's revival. No it isn't.

I did love the volcano/keys scene. Some great drama and The Doctor showing how much he still cares despite his prickly demeanor in this incarnation.
So the only remaining organic tissue in these Cybermen are the skeletons? That makes no sense. The brain would be the one bit to keep, surely? Having said that, the draining dark water was a cool visual.
I'm also struggling to adjust to the idea of who Missy is. I think it's mainly because I know the actress for her comedy roles, and that's clouding my ability to see her as a serious threat. I'm a fan of Chris Addison, so it was cool to see him as Seb (the pen-pusher asking Danny questions).
I'm still a bit confused about the series-long plot. Missy and the Cybermen been following The Doctor around in time and space and recruiting from wherever he went to...why? Why not just stay in Clara's home time, knowing that The Doctor keeps returning there? I'm curious to see how this ties back to getting Clara onto the Tardis in the first place (presuming that was Missy and we're not still seeding future big bads).
