Do Japanese stars get plastic surgery?

I found a forum and they were discussing some pictures. I think that you guys might find this alittle interesting. Now I'm not sure how knowledgeable you guys are about this topic but I just thought that I might share, and know what you guys think :anime:

Just like stars anywhere, I'm sure a good number of Japanese stars to get plastic surgery.

i think it's a bit weird that they're comparing some pictures of Japanese stars from their days as pre-teens and now adults.

the last picture where only girls are on it does look like they had plastic surgery.

Indeed. With most of the people in those pics in the first post, the time between when the "first" pic was taken to when the "last" one was taken is at least 5 years; often it's even longer. It's like they forget that people's looks actually change when they grow up from childhood to adulthood. Let's not also forget the effects that we see when there are changes in hairstyle/hair color and makeup. :rolleyes2:


In terms of actual rumours that have ran in Japanese news, the only real ones that I've been aware of are Hamasaki Ayumi's rumoured facelift/eye-tuck and Goto Maki's rumoured boob job. Pretty much all the other ones that are on sites like that linked on in the first post can simply be attributed to simple cosmetic things and/or just growing up.

Sorry as a fan i have to say that Maki's eyes are normal i got a picture of her when she was 2 years old and have big eyes...

I only forgot where that picture is exactly...

i have seen a picture of yuriko shiratori as teen she looked diffrent. but their hasn't been anything changed.

I think for a good amount of those, it's just the fact that they've changed over the years.

I'm sure there are people who do, though; plastic surgery has been pretty prevalent in Asian countries recently, especially in Korea.

Yup, nose jobs and eyelid surgery are a dime a dozen in the geinokai. Your examples aren't very good because of the big age gap between the tiny little kid/fully formed adult pictures, but it's a well known fact that Japanese artists will often have cosmetic surgery surgery to look less like the average joe, or even "less Asian" (as in Gackt or Ayumi's cases).

Well he wasn't than young there... I just wanted to post it XD But when he was younger, younger he was dark and kind of ugly I thought :sweat:

I don't think a lot of the pictures used are very fair at all, it's actually really easy to find good quality pictures of most popular Johnnys when they were young but whenever I see this collage they use cruddy quality pics... the ones they use for Takki, Ohno and Nino are crazy low quality from odd angles. You also have to remember photoshop. Anyway I'm sure a bunch of stars do get surgery but I don't think all of them do....
