Disney Gives Some Asian Countries Their Own Snow White

Disney had one job—adapt Snow White faithfully. It’s one of the simplest fairy tales to bring to life, yet they went out of their way to change everything that made it iconic. Instead of focusing on a beautiful, timeless story, they pushed modern agendas that nobody asked for. Once you go woke, you go broke—it’s happening again. The audience has rejected these changes time and time again, yet Disney refuses to learn. The backlash was entirely predictable, and now they’re scrambling to fix it by modifying the film for different countries. If they had just respected the original, none of this would have been necessary.

No matter what you think about the movie or the comments she has made, no one can deny that Rachel Zegler is an outstanding singer. Her voice is powerful, expressive, and well-suited for a Disney princess. Even if some people dislike her portrayal of Snow White or disagree with her opinions, her vocal talent is undeniable. The way she delivers a song carries emotion and depth, which is exactly what a musical role like this demands.

That said, a great voice alone doesn’t make a film successful. A strong performance needs to be supported by a well-written character, good storytelling, and respect for the source material. It’s unfortunate that so much of the conversation around this movie has been about controversy rather than the actual performances. If people could separate the personal from the professional, they might appreciate the artistry behind the music more.

Regardless of the film’s reception, I think Rachel’s career will continue to thrive because of her singing ability. Whether it’s in Broadway-style musicals, animated films, or original music, she has the voice to take on incredible roles in the future.

I disagree. Her career is screwed. She may never have a major movie again because she’s been attached to too many flops. West Side Story had critical praise but bombed at the box office. Shazam! Fury of the Gods underperformed. Now, Snow White is drowning in controversy before it even releases worldwide. Hollywood takes risks on fresh talent, but if an actor keeps being linked to box office failures, studios will think twice before casting them again.

She might still get work in smaller projects, maybe on Broadway or in voice acting, but leading big-budget films? That seems unlikely. The industry is brutal, and public perception matters. When people associate your name with failed movies and divisive opinions, it makes you a liability. If Disney, one of the biggest studios in the world, can’t turn you into a bankable star, who else is going to try?

Singing talent alone won’t save her career. Audiences need to connect with the performer, and right now, she has lost a lot of goodwill.

This movie would have been more successful if Rachel Zegler had just stayed quiet and avoided interviews. Her comments about the original Snow White being “weird” and outdated did nothing but alienate longtime Disney fans. It’s one thing to modernize a classic, but it’s another to dismiss the original film that made this remake possible in the first place. Fans wanted to feel excitement for a new version, not be told that the story they love is irrelevant.

Actors don’t have to praise everything about a film’s past, but they should at least be respectful. Instead, Rachel’s words made people feel like she didn’t even want to be part of the project. The backlash could have been avoided if she had focused on promoting the film’s positives—like the music, visuals, or new storytelling elements—rather than tearing down the original.

Disney should have controlled the messaging better. When a film already has controversies, the last thing it needs is its lead actor making things worse. If she had just let the movie speak for itself, more people might have given it a fair chance instead of being turned off before even watching it.

This movie would have been more successful if they had cast Dove Cameron, who is actually white and looks like Snow White. She has the classic features that match the fairy tale description, and she can sing beautifully. If Disney wanted to bring more diversity into their princess lineup, they should have created a new Latina princess instead of changing an existing one. That way, they could have celebrated Latin culture without taking away the nostalgia that so many people have for the original Snow White. People love Moana because she is an original character with a story that feels authentic to her culture. Disney didn’t have to change an existing princess to include Polynesian representation—they made a brand-new one, and audiences embraced her. Now, Moana is so popular that the sequel became a box office hit even with minimal promotion. That proves that audiences will support diverse stories when they are done right.

Instead of rewriting old characters and causing unnecessary controversy, Disney should focus on creating new ones that everyone can appreciate. That way, they could expand their legacy without alienating fans who love the classics.
