Some of you have been wondering why Aniplex’s upcoming re-release of Demon Slayer: Mugen Train seemed to include just the movie and nothing else, even if said movie has an increased resolution. Typically things like this have bonuses like interviews, behind the scenes featurettes or even sneak previews of what’s next. Looks like Aniplex heard you: they confirmed today an advance look at the next Demon Slayer film, Infinity Castle, will be included. “Fans and audiences can catch an exclusive teaser sneak peek of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle when Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train arrives in theatres in stunning 4K on May 14, distributed by Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment,” says Crunchyroll’s PR team. So there you have it, folks. Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is set to premiere in the US September 11, 2025. It picks up where the last season of the TV series left off, when Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke had finished their training under the Hashira and, after months of getting kicked around, were preparing to enter the demon stronghold, the Infinity Castle, and take the fight to them. From this point forward the manga will be adapted as movies, […]

That's their only consolation to make people watch a movie you can freely watch more highly detailed on the version and free on Netflix

So let me get this straight: we’re paying theater prices to watch a movie we’ve already seen, just because it’s shinier now? And the big bonus is a "sneak peek"? I guess that’s enough for some people. Don’t get me wrong, I love Demon Slayer. But unless this teaser is a full scene with real substance, I don’t see the point. I’ve seen Mugen Train three times already. I know what happens. I cried. I moved on. Show me something new or at least give me a behind-the-scenes clip, not just a short teaser that will be on YouTube five minutes later.

I think this is a great idea! For people who missed Mugen Train in theaters the first time, this is a second chance to experience that beautiful animation on the big screen. And now in 4K? That’s a real treat. Also, adding the Infinity Castle teaser is a smart move—it keeps the excitement going and reminds us there’s more to come.

As someone who got into Demon Slayer a bit later, I’m really enjoying the chance to see everything in theaters now. It feels more immersive, like I’m part of something big. I also love the decision to make the final arc into movies. That shows confidence in the story’s strength and gives the animators more freedom. I’m definitely planning to go, probably with friends. We’ve rewatched Mugen Train a few times, but seeing it again on a big screen, with an extra bonus at the end, feels like a celebration of how far this anime has come.

This just feels like a money grab. They know fans will pay to see the same movie again just because there’s a few seconds of new content added. I already bought the Blu-ray, I stream the episodes, and now they want me to pay theater prices for a teaser? That doesn’t sit right with me.

I love the story, and yes, Mugen Train was amazing. But I think they could’ve just released the teaser online or added it to Crunchyroll. Not everyone has access to theaters showing it. I guess if you never saw it in theaters, maybe it’s worth it. Otherwise, I don’t see the point.
