We've had some incredible protagonists in the Final Fantasy series over the years, each with their own unique journeys and character development. From Cloud to Tidus to Noctis, every hero offers a different story and emotional weight.

I'm interested in hearing everyone's thoughts on who stands out as the best protagonist and why. For me, I'd have to go with Zidane from FFIX. His blend of humor, charm, and vulnerability makes him relatable and genuinely lovable. Plus, his growth throughout the story is just magnificent.

Let's also consider what traits make a great protagonist in the series, do you prefer the brooding anti-hero types or the more light-hearted ones? What makes a character truly resonate with you?

I'm ready for some passionate debates here, so let's hear it! Who's your top pick, and what moments nailed it for you?

Zidane is such a fantastic pick! His journey in FFIX is genuinely heartwarming. I love how he evolves from this carefree thief to someone who deeply cares about those around him. His humor is a perfect counterbalance to some of the heavier themes in the game, like loss and identity.

For me, though, Cloud will always hold a special place in my heart. His arc in FFVII, especially when he confronts his past and battles through that identity crisis, hits so hard! Aerith's scene still gives me chills every time.

As for traits, I appreciate both brooding anti-heroes and light-hearted characters. It really depends on the story and how they grow. What moments resonate with you the most in Zidane's journey? Any specific scenes that really got you?
