WIIIIIIIIIIII!
I picked up this toy because it looked cool. I was surprised to find out it's actually pretty damn fun to play with. It's big, at least the size of a small sawed-off shotgun:
It has two firing modes: Normal and Card-swipe. I don't know if it was like this in the BJ version, or in the show, but this thing swipes cards in a very similar way to the Garren Rouser, if not as sophisticated. Here are the cards and swiper:
The cards are not individually marked or anything like that. Basically, you open one of the card slots with a button, which makes a cool sound. Then you swipe the card, causing a button to depress inside. Depending on which slow was opened, the gun makes a specific sound when the trigger is pulled. As near as I can tell from figuring out the sounds, the closest holder to the swiper is for laser, the middle one is for capture, and the farthest is for thunder. After swiping, you have ten shots with that particular sound, then you get five "empty" shots, then it goes back to the standard noise. Personally, I thought the little touch of having "ammo" was awesome.
Last but not least is the missles. There are three, one for each card:
You load them into the top barrel, and then pull the little shotgun pump on the bottom. This causes the lower barrel to move inward, and the top barrel to fire the missle.
There is also a switch on the bottom which can be turned to "on", which is standard, "try me" which just plays the sounds in order as you pull the trigger, and "off", which is obvious.
All in all, a fairly damn cool toy, IMO.
