DC Nation programming block?

Brave and the Bold is canceled, unfortunately. Confirmed as such during SDCC...and also seemingly a new Batman series was announced that will follow Brave and the Bold.

I'm pretty sure Diana is without a cartoon unless DCE is doing things differently from the "embargo" era. Still, a Superman/Batman cartoon (or just Superman) would be nice, since he hasn't had one to himself since 2000.

Yeah the "embargo" era style restrictions are over in part due DC West being beefed up also by the recent transfers of Mike Carlin to WBA and Pornsak Pichetshote to DC West.

If anything I hope the end up making a Showcase cartoon, just to expose some of the lesser Dc heroes. I mean that has been a great thing about B:TB&TB.

Exactly. From the article in the CN thread, it appears as if it won't just be all animated, either. It's entirely possible the Blue Beetle live-action series they were trying to get out will be coming to CN. Angry as that makes me (no live-action on Cartoon Network), I'm still excited.

Cool, cool. Can't wait. :buttrock:

Oooh, so you're Pro-Live Action on CN?

This is definitely a shame. It's always seemed to me like the DCU is a bit...flat or bland on the surface. At first glance nothing impressive sticks out. Everything is simple. Brave and the Bold was a great way to help people discover the depth behind the seemingly simple exterior. A Showcase series might be nice, but I don't think it will happen if the producers think Brave and the Bold didn't work. Although I suppose at this point they may just be running out of ideas/teamups.

>< gods, please don't let them try live action ANYTHING. Sad to say but America does not take live-action superheroes anywhere near as well as Japan or other countries unless it's Power Rangers. If anything I suspect a poorly-done live action bit would either kill the block, or severely harm it in terms of popularity and ratings.

Indeed. It also had the balls to be fun. It was a DC thing you could go to see action and heroics rather than watching Dan DiDo scratch another name off his death or dismemberment list.

If they never try it'll never succeed.
