Well, sorry for bumping this, but I thought it would be a bit silly to make an all new thread to ask this question.

This type of jacket... what is it actually called? I mean, I don't really care if it does not look exactly like the one Kotaro was wearing. I would just be happy if I could find one of similar style in white. I am just not sure which brand to look for. Typing "white jacket" in google gets you many results, but most of them are either very thin sports jackets, very heavy biker jackets or thick winter jackets.

Surely this type of jacket MUST have some sort of name? Or was it made COMPLETELY for the show only?

It's a Japanese Biker Jacket. I have no idea what brand, but they do sell them.

The original versions from the 80s, I assume, is the same thing. They aren't made anymore, so you have no choice but to have one custom made.
