Took me a while to get down to it but a couple weeks ago I gave Annihilation a read and it was amazing. Drax, Nova and Surfer's prologues were great, and the main event too. Straight into Nova with Abnett and Lanning and that was great too. Then came Conquest; at first I wasn't so sure about the idea of a sequel, and with different lead writers, but Abnett and Lanning did a great job. And Guardians of the Galaxy rocks too.
It's wonderful how Giffen, Abnett and Lanning managed to take some lesser known characters (certainly some I'd never heard of) and some big ones that hadn't had much happening recently, and they made them into stars.
Halfway through War Of Kings now.
It's still good, I'm not so sure on it... I was pleasantly surprised that they managed to make me tolerate Rachel and Gabriel Summers, and I love Darkhawk so it was cool to see him get a boost too. It seems like they're starting to cash in on the popularity though, and while it's nice to see cosmic heroes become a bigger thing, I hope that doesn't put limits on what they can do.
Any fans here? What do you guys think?
Oh, and Phyla and Moondragon are my new favourite comic couple (until Iceman and Northstar get together).
