Tell them you've stopped pirating, then download a proxy or some sort of IP switching browser.

A firewall, a good one, would be better help than a proxy.

The worst thing that a company can do is sue you. Unless you are profiting from the piracy then you most likely will never be charged with a crime. The other thing that can be done is your university can expel you (at worst) or remove your internet connection.

And yeah, I highly doubt ANY company would want to sue any users here on HJU. They have better things to do with their time. Unless you're distributing things like say, protype drawings for Transformers of Transformers 2 right now, I highly doubt you'll be sued. There's more of us than there are of them, right?

Seriously, thinking logically, I doubt they'd bust through my house and go after me. The government knows there are pirates like us. They're just taking precautions to stop the general pirating to go on, as opposed to destroying single pirates one at a time. Besides, even if they did, 2 more would appear right after. :sweat:

I've been downloading Toku and other shows for years, but if a DVD is released over here of the shows I go out and buy it, although there are a few I haven't done that with, one because of the price and two because I didn't really like the show.
I'm actually at uni now, downloading using a shared network. I have been cut off for a week, although I'm not entirely sure that was because I tried torrents or just a fault seeing as a lot of other peoples died as well. They did try and block the port I was using to get the downloads, but they didn't get very far as I changed it so that it would only download using the main port everyone was using so I can still download. I thought that was really funny watching them try to block the downloads, I use megaupload to download everything now since I can't use torrents, way too risky to use them anyway, I will only stop if the uni asks me to otherwise I will keep watching the shows I love.
