Anyone ever been on http://digg.com ? It's a site with all these tech stories as well as some news in other genres. It's a different kind of site too, kinda like a messageboard, where it combines social bookmarking, blogging, RSS, and non-hierarchical editorial control. With digg, users submit stories for review, but rather than allow an editor to decide which stories go on the homepage, the users do.
It's pretty cool. The guys who sort of Admin over the site also have a Podcast, which I am subbed to.
So far I'm mainly following it because of that Sony BMG rootkit crap. For those of you who don't know, Sony is putting "copyright protection" on its CDs that prevent you from burning more than three copies of it. When you agree to the EULA and install the software, tho, it hides a file that can be a potential target for hackers as well as send a LOT of info about your computer habits to Sony.
Now Sony's getting their asses beat down because they were idiots. There's a list of CDs with the rootkit crap on them (in other words, don't let those bitches autorun in your computer if you have them). And California has already gotten pissed enough to sue the company over it.
But anyways, check out Digg. You'll be glad you did.
