Hmm, I just looked up RPFS (Renaissance Pleasure Faire of Southern California, the one I do) and it's the same Faire you're talking about. It moved to this location about 5 or 6 years ago, I think.

I remembered that it started in Agoura and later moved to Devore, so I was curious if that was the one you were talking about. I didn't start going to it until after it was in Irwindale, though I'm told the old places were beautiful.

The old location was basically nothing but desert, so it was hot. The jousters were covered in sweat when they removed their helmets. Mobile microwaves. xD

The group I'm in has been around since 2002 or thereabouts, though pretty much all the founding members had been in several other music groups around Faire before that.

Our brother band is about 15 years old, It think.

That was at the Northern California Renaissance Faire up by Gilroy last weekend. The group I'm in will be there this weekend (which is the last one of the Faire) but I won't, since I've got a wedding I'm going to on Sunday.

i've heard about that but i have never been there before. though i think i remember passin by gilroy on the way to san jose when i went up north last summer.

Heh, yours is probably better than mine. I really stink at it. Good thing we don't use it in our shows, otherwise I'd be sunk. Though it's mostly scripted, so if I just had to memorize it, it'd probably be ok.

It's actually about 10 miles from Gilroy, but it's the closest big-ish city in the area. I camped on site this year, which was sorta fun and sorta not. The first night each weekend was freezing!! But the second night wasn't so bad. Maybe the greenhouse effect had something to do with it.

i knew it! xD why was it freezin & what part of the year did you go campin last year? nvm, i forgot that the weather stays the same all year round up in norcal. lol

Didn't actually camp when I went last year, I stayed in a hotel with some of my bandmates. But this year, if I was going to have to drive with only one other person (the bass takes up two people's spots all by itself... :redface2 I wasn't going to be able to afford to stay in a hotel, too. So I camped, which was free for us. :thumbs:
