Last year the rhythm-based game BIT.TRIP returned with a fresh updated installment, BIT.TRIP Rerunner. The game is based on the original BIT.TRIP from the 2000s, an endless runner where your moves are timed to the beat of the soundtrack. There may be many who follow this formula now, but BIT.TRIP was one of the first. BIT.TRIP Rerunner launched on Steam last September, with the promise of a console release in the coming months. It took a while, but the time is now — you can find the game on Playstation 5 as of today, and an XBox Series X version is coming soon. “This is it: BIT.TRIP RERUNNER has hit the PlayStation 5 in a big way,” says Mike Roush, co-Founder at developer Choice Provisions. “We’re thrilled with how the original Steam release was received, so it was all-hands-on-deck at the studio to get this console port done. So glad to see Rerunner finally hit the PS5. Can't wait to revisit those classic levels with a fresh coat of Unreal Engine 5 paint. The level creator is a game-changer too. Here comes countless hours of community-made madness!

New PS5 game, gotta get those trophies! 150+ levels sounds like a challenge, but with a killer soundtrack and the ability to create my own levels, this could be a real time sink. Plus, imagine the competition for the most insane, earworm-inducing levels in the Runner Maker community.

Another endless runner? Been there, done that. But BIT.TRIP was special back in the day, and the Unreal Engine 5 visuals sound intriguing. Maybe the level creator will add some replayability and keep things fresh. If I can find it on sale, I might give it a shot.

BIT.TRIP Rerunner is a great game that I personally don't have the patience for. High fives out to all the people that are awesome at this game.
