Bing popups block my way! wtf?

So recently i've been having these annoying issues with bing ad boxes randomly jumping up in my way when i'm trying to type messages. It's super annoying cause sometimes they pop right up in my way when i'm trying to click on a link so it makes me click the microsoft bing ad giving more money microsoft and wasting my time, plus the forums are running so slow too these days, the rude pop ups plus the very slow loading pages are getting to where this site is becoming un-usable to me. Is it possible un-installing adobe flash might fix it? I just hate doing that cause them steam screws up and normally I would say **** it and stop using steam but I spent 60 dollars on my copy of half-life 2 not knowing that it would force me to use steam to play it, and dangit I know that part isn't you guys fault but I just feel tricked by valve cause half life 1 was so so freaking good for it's time and I never thought they would pull the carpet from under my feet and now even require you to use steam to play that too. Anyways i hope I didn't ramble too much but I can't use this site very well cause all those erratic bing ads, what can I do? Anything to keep from moving to ranger-board cause Argus can be so hotheaded sometimes and take it out on the toku fandom.

Think it may be something on your computer, the only advertisements I see is the ebay one, and the one on the right hand side, however I had a problem a couple of years ago on an old PC, and it turned out to be something on my PC causing them, id recemend doing a virus/malware/adware scan O.o but sorry cant really recomend any to use

I get those, too. You see random double-underlined words in people's posts, and when you mouse over them, you get those Bing popups. I just ignore them, avoid running the cursor over them and they don't happen.

What browser are you using? I've never had any bing pop-ups here nor on any other site that I've gone on.

I've had them since the first time I came to HJU over a year ago. Didn't think anything of them, and this is the only place I go to where they happen. *shrug*

did a quick bit of research, apparently it is on your PC

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090809122719AASdIXu <- removal surgestion, guessing it would be similar on firefox too

Hmm, unfortunately, it seems FF doesn't have a similar method of removal... At least, not one that I could find in a half hour of looking through different options. I'm running an Ad-Aware scan to see if it finds anything.

ah that sucks :(, sorry if I find anything else out I will post, however I wont be able to do any test as I am clean from it, just a thought if its an ad program that loads up at start up it could be removed from start up? or use CC cleaner but sorry I dunno if it is

EDIT: link removed :)

Any of this help? And you don't mean the ads that're like.. words with lines underneath 'em, do ya?

Also, yeah... site's been slow, cuz the move is apparently more hassle than we thought.

EDIT: found this, could be useful?

Well, I went ahead and installed Greasemonkey and the script it recommended, we'll see if it works. If it doesn't, no biggie though, I just avoid mousing over the links and it's all good.

Yeah, it's the random double-underlined words that pop up a little window you need to close with an ad in it. *shrug*
