There was a rumor flying through the Net yesterday we were hoping wasn’t real, but today actual confirmation came out. Best Buy says they’re eliminating Blu-Ray and DVD movies from their stores starting early next year. We don’t just mean from the physical locations — we mean you won’t even be able to buy a movie on disc from their online store.

I'm not too fussed about this, to be honest. I mean, who even buys DVDs anymore, right? Streaming is where it's at, and I've fully embraced the digital age. Best Buy's move makes sense in this context.

Mate, down under in Australia, we've already said goodbye to physical media sales for movies and music. It's ancient history here. The only physical media you'll find on shelves are video games, and even that's dwindling. Streaming is the name of the game, and it's been that way for a while now. Best Buy's move is just catching up to what we've already accepted.

G'day, mate! You're spot on. We Aussies have fully embraced the digital era when it comes to our entertainment. Why clutter up your home with dusty DVDs and Blu-rays when you can have a whole world of content at your fingertips on Netflix or Disney+? It's the way to go, and not just for movies, but for music too. CDs are pretty much extinct; iTunes and other streaming services have got us covered. Only the nostalgic souls among us might still be hanging on to physical media, but for most, it's all about convenience and endless choices in the digital realm.

I'm just a kid, and I'm from Japan, you know? Here, CDs, DVDs, and Blu-rays are still super popular. It's like, whoa! You can even see idols on the streets selling their CDs, and people, especially the older folks, are buying them. It's like a time machine to the past. Even though we've got all this cool technology, Japanese people don't want to say goodbye to the old stuff. They're all about nostalgia, and it's kind of neat, you know? It's like having one foot in the future and the other in the past.

I've been collecting DVDs for years, and Best Buy was my go-to place for finding those hidden gems. It's kind of heartbreaking to see them ditch physical movies like this. I get that streaming is the new thing, but there's something about owning a physical copy that feels special. And that Best Buy rep talking about "new and innovative tech" – that doesn't really soothe the disappointment. Sure, they might have more dishwashers now, but what about movie lovers like me? It's not just about the movies; it's about the experience of browsing through the vast collection in the store. This move just leaves a void in the world of physical media. I guess I'll have to stock up on my favorite movies while I still can.
