Azura Armor Franchise Rights

Hey All,

I have been in touch with the owner of Azura Armor, the thai-toku tokusatsu/comic. I've been talking to him about buying rights to the title, characters, designs, comics, concepts.etc Anyways, it turns out that he's asking a fair price for the whole thing.... as far as franchises go... I would be broke though, unless stuff sells. So this thread is to see what kinds of interest there is. My hopes with this franchise are to aim it towards an older youth audience, Power Rangers has a TV Target Audience of Boys aged 6-8. my hope would be to project it at 12 - 15 or even 14 - 18. What's so cool about Azura Armor is that the character has a dark side, he doesn't want to be a super hero, he was paid to be part of an expirament that transformed him into Azura Armor. Now, there are Azura Armors all over the world according to the plot outline that was sent to me... this means that if we were to produce a DVD release video or even a TV pilot, the character can have a differant arch than the thailand one.

At this point, I would love to do a pilot or even a 45 minuite TV movie.. however I don't know if television would be the right market for this franchise, Power Rangers is difficult to compeate with and I don't want to look like a Power Rangers knock-off. But first I need to know if there is interest and what kinds of products you would buy. At this stage there are only 3 products/services in development in thailand, those are the comic books, the live stage shows and the trading card game.... those are all things I'd be willing to bring over. But I need to know what you think a fair price to charge for these items are.

Please let me know what the interest level is, and if anyone is interested in coming on board this project with me,

I look forword to your oppinions/ideas,

To really be honest, IMO I think you might want to focus more on your fanfilm first BEFORE going ahead with Azura Armor.

As ambitious and as awesome as that sounds, I see it all just sort of falling in on itself. From my perspective, if I had a creation that was just as well known as AA and all I saw was your test footage, I might have to seriously re-consider. Not that I'm bashing your work when I say that, I still feel you've got a long ways to go but if you did it now, that'd be like submitting a slash fanfic with multiple Mary Sue characters as a sample piece to get a scriptwriting job on a tv show. It'd be something that you reaaaally wouldn't want the higher ups to see/read/whatever.

So in closing, forget about this for now and stick with the fanfilm and get it made, make more of them even to get the hang of it. THEN when you've gotten yourself to a point where you're astisfied, go from there.
