Art from Racist Korean Kids

Wow... They're worse at drawing then I am. As for the racist part, I really don't care. And there's a reason for it

A. You can't change a racist's mind. They are COMPLETELY set in their ways.

B. Because of their radical and irrational thinking, barely anyone takes them or their opinions seriously

I do not really think that they are being racist. They are just expressing how they feel. There has been alot of tension between these two countries for a long time now.

For example, there has been alot of Anti-Japanese sentiment because of the territorial dispute over the Takeshima Islands. The anger has been growing in South Korea over Japan's claim to a small group of islands and its refusal to respond to Roh's calls for an apology over colonial rule which leads to the problems of interpretations of history, and particularly descriptions of the war era in textbooks.

The descriptions of the South Korean drawings can be compared to the several US flag burnings throughout Middle East. They are not necessarily being racist, they are just angry about their treatment and/or how the situation is being handled.

True, but at the same time, it's usually children being told to do this. I really doubt they know much about this, other than being told "Japan is bad and wants to take over the world". It's kinda sad to see it happen at such a young age and you know in 20 years or so these are going to be the kids wanting to fight more wars against Japan.

I think they should all just get over with it. And I hope they do because all this war between different countries can't last forever, no matter what the cause!!

Agreed,

I wish they could just all stop all the hatred between the countries but like I have said before (especially in my Sociology classes), it's easier said than done.

What is sad is that they only see the other side of the story. Their stigma about how "bad the opposing country is" eventually sticks to them until they grow up. Now that could lead to prejudice/discrimination.

These pictures are pretty old but this does not reflect how Korea as a whole thinks about Japan. These little kids are so stupid and I blame their idiotic teachers.
2005 was supposed to be the official 'Korea-Japan friendship year' until the Japanese had to ruin it by claiming Tokto/Takeshima as their own and then there was the 'ok' to issue distorted History books to schools all around Japan saying that Japan never invaded Korea and colozined their country (this is one of many reasons why many Japanese youth today have no idea why there is bad blood between the two countries).
When one looks at these pictures, one can automatically assume that the Koreans are the bad guys in this but in reality, the idiotic Japanese officials are ones to blame for causing all the anti-japan rage and racism towards the Japanese in Korea. If Japan never claimed Tokto/Takeshima as their own and never agreed to allow distorted history books in their classrooms, none of this stuff would happen.

By the way, anybody notice the one piece characters they drew?
