Armor Trans vs SIC

just need some info.

ever since I became interested in Kamen Rider around the time I discovered Ryuki back in 2004, I found myself looking for figures from the series. At first, I saw the Armor Trans Figures (and by extension the "cast off" Kabuto figures). I wasn't really all that interested in them, given the ridiculous proportions of the head and the somewhat lousy proportions of the figures in general. Then I discovered SICs, which despite looking amazing, seem both fragile and incredibly expensive, so I never bought one.

However, tension finally got to me, so I ordered a Den-O sword form Armor trans figure from HLJ (would have ordered Rod Form, but they're sold out till October). I was delighted to discover that the Den-O Armor Trans not only lack the ridiculous shrunken heads, but are very well proportioned compared to the previous armor trans figures, at least from what I saw.

However, since this only applies to the Den-O armor trans figures, I was thinking about finally ordering an SIC (if I can find some at a good price anyway, HLJ discontinued most of them, and I was eyeing BLACK RX). However, I can't find a good comparison.

Is there any difference in scale between the SICs and Armor Trans figures? How do SICs fair as far as the durability of pegs and joints, and paint scratching?

sics are ridiculously detailed and posable but they don't look too show accurate, i never got into them kinda looks like someone melted plastic, molded it into a kamen rider figure then melted it again.

Yes from my under standings...

SIC =
not show acurate but the changes are OKed I Think by the original designer
Highly detailed
super posable
lots of accessorys
& larger scale figures more in line with Marvel legends type scale

Armor trans =
Show acurate
lots of accessorys
Super posable
and smaller, just a bit smaller than you're average starwars figure...
& also cheaper than the SIC figures as well...
THey also come out FASTER than the SIC figures as well...

Sooo it just depends on you're pocket book and tastes... You could well buy both lines and not feel the wallet burn depending on you're $$$ since the SIC don't come out so much ...

I am trying to decide between the two as well... I think I am going to stick with SIC in general but I may pick up the odd armor trans series inbetween if I have cash...

For example ... KABUTO SIC figures are not even out yet... & they just released g3 &4 from agito a while ago & are rereleasing (<-- nice that they do this!) some rykuio figures or at least the main dragon guy again

We will see kabuto stuff before we see deno stuff I am sure :( Both are good but the WAIT SUCKS!! I just hope they do imagin forms when they do deno :) Heck if they did imagin for armor trans I would buy them :)

Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong on any facts above as I am no expert... I don't even have any of these figures my self (LOL) &am just learning about it all slowly as I go...

Dude if they are smaller then a star wars figure then they are small as hell. If you ever want to get a SIC one always get the one that come with two, Like I got Delta and Kaixa and since my little bro split the price with me he got Kaixa.

well, if I had to choose between getting the Trans armor BLACK RX figure and the SIC BLACK RX figure, I'd side with the SIC since the Armor Trans looks kind of... bad. Granted SIC BLACK looks... just as bad, but SIC BLACK RX looks awesome enough. (I'm aware they're the same SIC.)

I still have my Saban's Masked Rider-style BLACK RX figure (minus the sword and both antenna), but the scale is pretty off.

The Souchaku Henshin/Armor Trans figures are a bit *bigger* than the Star Wars figures; they're around 4.75"-5" tall. And the small-proportioned heads are simply there because otherwise the helmets would have to be far too large. SH figures are great, all in all; show-accurate and very poseable.

The SIC aren't everyone's cup of tea, but I love them. They're not show-accurate, but they're not supposed to be; they're a re-imagining of the figure, in a somewhat bizarre/grotesque way. I love them. They're highly detailed and poseable, and feature some diecast, though not as much proportionally as the SH figures do. However, they're not really meant to be "played" with; they're essentially poseable statues. If you were to subject them to the same kind of handling as, say, I did to my Star Wars figures when I was a kid, the joints would loosen up to the point where they wouldn't hold poses anymore.

Basically, if you want either show-accurate figures or ones you can play around with, go with the SH line. If you're into more of an artsy feel and mostly want to display rather than play (and have more money to invest), go with SIC.

I've pretty much stopped collecting the SH line, though I'm leaning towards getting a Den-O Sword Form just because it looks great and has gotten fantastic reviews. (I'd get a Wing Form, as that's my favorite look for Den-O, but they're *stupid* rare and expensive.) It was kind of getting to the point that I could afford one or the other, but not really both, and so I chose the larger, more elaborate SIC line.

I'd jump on online orders or what not right away when ever a new SIC hits from the sounds of my friend they are hard to get there as is because everyone THERE wants them too :P says there prices shoot upt to $500 HKD + most of the time right away
