Am I the Only One that Misses Many Riders vs. Multi-Form Riders?

I rather want a good supporting cast, which we sadly get very rarely.
I will take Ichijou, the G3 Team or Ankh over any secondary Rider.

The only reason why the multiple Rider thing worked in Ryuki, was because many of the Riders were one-shot characters.
They were pretty much MOTD in Rider suits.
The "real" Riders of the show were Ryuki, Knight, Zolda and Ouja.

So much Kabuto hate.

Kabuto had bad spotlight sharing for other Riders though. Lots of cool suits just sort of vanished.

Anyways to be on topic. I think a Blade or Hibiki style in terms of Secondary Riders should try to peak out again. Personally while Hibiki might be a black sheep to Toei the way it treated it's Secondaries was great.

Ibuki and Todoroki had plenty of time to tell their share of the role as a Oni. And Zanki wasn't really forgotten either.

And Blade also had a fair sharing between the Riders, heck Garren had more character focus than Kenzaki and Hajime before Leangle even appeared.

It's because it was a rather bad show to a lot of people. The awful main riders attitude was bad enough, but the fact he became GOD RIDER and was able to neuter the other riders at will was just garbage. The only saving grace that series had for me was Gattack.

Is it wrong to think of overconfidence as an endearing quality?

People seem to be more forgiving of it in a secondary Rider (who tend to be very arrogant or at least start off that way) than in the hero.

I'm quite fond of Tendou, but he was so over the top that I found him funny

It wasn't overconfidence. It was smug superiority. He thought he was better than everyone, and he told them so.

I felt the same way with Tendo. He can definitely be quite annoying but it was so hard to take his "God's child" thing too seriously.

I'd say the problem wasn't his attitude. I can like a character that feels like he's the best ever, if the series has him develop over it, or take it in a comedic way. At first they seemed to take the latter approach, having him be EXTREMELY over the top, which made him more hilarious than the Taros. The problem is that he had all the right to think of himself as super ultimate God, which made him go into annoying. Tendou is a gigantic God Mode Sue. He could do absolutely everything perfectly. Even Godai and Tsukasa didn't get to his level.

So we had a character that both had an annoying personality and was perfect. What else to add? Oh yeah! Everyone at first reacts as they should (seeing him as a prick), but he manages to get Kagami's friendship, despite being a constant ass towards him. There's no good reasoning for it, other than Kagami being an abused wife for Tendou. It's sad since Kagami is really the best thing of the series, and Kabuto would've been a far better series if it was Kamen Rider Gatack.

That's pretty much the reason why I can't take the end of GSL seriously... like, at all.
