Forget Wonka — the one prequel everybody actually DOES want from Warner Bros is Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, the follow-up to Mad Max Fury Road from the same director, George Miller. The trailer was suddenly dropped tonight, and looks as amazing as you might expect, though some of those CG shots make the thing look like a cartoon. Eh, it’s a work in progress, right?

Buckle up, honey, because we need to talk about the heinous crime of Charlize Theron not reprising her role as Furiosa. I mean, are they looking for a 'Mad Max's Barbie Dream Adventure' type or a true post-apocalyptic badass? Furiosa without Theron is like a margarita without tequila - a tasteless disappointment. Anya Taylor-Joy is fantastic. No offense to Anya, but she's not the fierce, chrome-armed queen we fell for. Do better, Hollywood; we want Furiosa, not Furiosa-lite. Anya looks anorexic, not a believable warrior.

One of my favorite aspects of this franchise is the post-apocalyptic language. Words appear to have been mispronounced or confused, in keeping with the idea of the post-apocalyptic survivors going insane. It adds a lot of character to the world. There are numerous examples of this throughout the films, such as "lady and gentlemens," "I should be in Valhalla, McFeasting with heroes," "The ayatollah of rock and roll-ah," and "It was your Manifest Destiny not to perish." It's more fun to rewatch the movies just to try to find every strange apocalyptic slang.

Yeah, Hollywood is lacking any truly original ideas, so they have to milk these franchises to the bone. The premise may seem nice at first, but with the standards of modern writing and modern politics seeping into everything, this will be a subpar product and a waste of money. Where's Max? What no Max? Then why use his damn name? I'll do a hard pass. Why no Mel Gibson cameo again? Another pass .

In reality, this is just how people in Australia live their daily lives. Let's hope we don't get an unrealistic cut of a thin woman overpowering a built tank like Hemsworth. They want you to think they made this crazy action epic about a post-apocalyptic future.
