Recently, I've been reading a lot of the more older issues namely from the very early nineties and geeze do they have some good ass stories in there

I've never read the Dredd stories , so I don't know where to start. Is there a good intro comic out there?

Just like to say with regards to the latest Dredd story in AD2000 "Closet." I totally called what was happening in the picture used in the articles written about the story a week before the mag came out.

You mean one that covers the entire breadth of the series' 30 something years of continuity? No, not really.

I hang out over at /co/ a lot and the general conciseness is that "The Cursed Earth", "The Day The Law Died", "America", "Block Mania", and "The Apocalypse War" are the best overall strips of the franchise. I'd also say pick up "The Dark Judges" as well. So you may want to check those out. Rebellion has even released convenient digest versions of them.

It also has a tendency to parody various things and has a very macabre sense of humor at times.

Well the DVD & Blu-Ray sales have been through the roof, so there's always hope

Thats what I've read. IT should have never been advertised as a 3-D movie period, because right then, it dug up memories of the bad ones and the higher costs in general. Where my sister goes to school up in Grand Rapids, the tickets are like 8-10 bucks by default and where I live, they're 6-7 but 4-5 dollars in the mornings at MJR.

If the film was clearer in the advertising and didn't focus on the 3D gimmick, it might have actually done much better.

Also I have heard that the props of the movie have been sold such as the motorcycle and Karl Urban's suit. Though they could be getting newer things for the sequel, having the previous props sold like this doesn't lend the possibility well.

The props are currently being auctioned, but that's nothing new for productions to do. To my knowledge they are also not auctioning off every prop/costume from the film.

And just as a side note...the Dredd full uniform is currently at 11 grand!! :O_O:

BigDog, I'd also like to suggest that you check out some of the US color reprints of Dredd from the late 80's & early 90's by Eagle & Fleetway/Quality. That's how I got into Dredd myself. They're also extremely cheap
