The Mummy 4 is dated for release one year from now, on October 15 of 2027. And it’s on that exact pre-anniversary that Universal has decided to reveal the actual […]

I've always had a soft spot for the fun campiness of the earlier Mummy films, especially with Brendan Fraser's charm. But honestly, this feels like the kind of sequel we don't need unless they can bring something fresh to the table instead of just relying on nostalgia. If they go for more genuine thrills and clever storytelling, maybe it could surprise us, but I'm definitely skeptical.

Finally some real news instead of rumors. I was getting tired of leaks and fake posters. Book of the Dead makes complete sense as a title because that book is basically the main character of this whole series if you think about it. Every resurrection, every curse, every twist comes from that thing. I just hope they explain why it has no real rules this time. In the first movies it felt dangerous and mysterious, but now it sounds like a magic reset button that brings anyone back whenever the story needs it. If Imhotep, Beni, and who knows who else are all returning from death, the stakes kind of disappear. Still, seeing Fraser and Weisz back together is enough to get me interested. I grew up with these characters and I am curious how older versions of them handle another mummy problem.

Bringing Beni back is honestly the best part of this news for me. That character was always more entertaining than half the serious heroes in these movies. I do not care much about plot logic at this point, I just want to see old cast chemistry again. The 1950s setting also sounds like a nice change from the usual Egypt desert scenes we always get.

Reading this made me laugh a little. A whole franchise built around a book that cancels death whenever convenient. At some point someone in universe should just throw it in a volcano and end the problem forever. But I guess then there is no more movie. I am still going to watch it though, mostly for nostalgia and seeing Fraser again in this type of role.

I like the title because it connects directly to what made the original movies work. The Book of the Dead has always been one of the most important objects in the franchise, so bringing it back makes sense. My only concern is that the writers need to establish some rules for resurrection. If everybody can come back whenever the story needs them, then death stops being meaningful. I also hope Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz get enough screen time together because their chemistry was a huge part of why the first two movies were so enjoyable. I am excited to see them return, but I want a proper adventure with a good story, not just familiar faces coming back for nostalgia.

I am cautiously excited. The original two movies have a special place for me, the third one not so much. Hearing Hannah and Fehr are returning gives me hope they want to respect the classic trio feeling instead of just throwing in a bunch of new characters nobody asked for. Title sounds a little plain though, I expected something more dramatic honestly.

Why does everyone keep dying and coming back in this series. At some point death should actually mean something or the tension is gone completely. I understand it is a fantasy mummy movie, but even fantasy needs some internal rules to feel satisfying. Still, I trust the people behind this enough to give it a chance before judging too much.

Not going to lie, 1950s setting sounds really fun visually. Different fashion, different tone, maybe more playful spy like atmosphere instead of just tombs and sand all the time. If they lean into that era properly with music and style choices, this could feel fresh even with old familiar faces returning for the story.

This franchise clearly loves bringing people back using that book, maybe too much at this point. Evie dying and returning already felt like a lot back then. Now with Imhotep and Beni both confirmed alive again, death truly has no weight anymore in this universe, which honestly kind of ruins stakes for me as a longtime fan.
