Nathan Matthew David's scores have such a unique texture that really transports you to different worlds, and I appreciate the craftsmanship involved in his work for projects like this. However, I felt a bit mixed about the featured artists; while some really elevated the mood, others didn't quite resonate with me as strongly. It's always interesting to see how various styles blend or clash across a soundtrack.

BINI doing both the original and the Amping Mix with Lea Salonga is smart planning honestly. It gives the soundtrack a full circle moment without feeling repetitive. I already had A Parallel World on repeat since it came out as single, now I am curious how the mixed version changes the vibe with Lea added in. Filipino soundtracks rarely get this much star power in one project so this feels like a big moment for representation in animated films. 37 tracks is a lot to sit through but with this many artists involved I doubt it gets boring. Score suites are also a nice bonus for people like me who care more about instrumental storytelling than pop singles.

Reading about the Las Piñas bamboo organ and gandingan being used in the score honestly got me more excited than the pop singles. Anyone can hire big name singers, but putting real indigenous instruments into a DreamWorks score takes actual effort and respect for the culture being represented. I hope this pushes more Western studios to research properly instead of using generic "ethnic" sound packs like they usually do. Nathan Matthew David sounds like he understands the assignment here. Score suites being included also tells me this soundtrack was made for people who actually listen closely, not just casual fans wanting three minutes of a song then moving on.

88 minutes is basically a whole album plus extra, not just a soundtrack. Respect to whoever approved this length because studios usually cut score tracks short to save space for radio friendly songs.
