It’s great to see Resident Evil Code: Veronica getting some love! With the way Capcom has handled remakes lately, I’m really optimistic about how they’ll update the gameplay mechanics while preserving the core of what made the original so haunting. The art style and environment design should be a treat with modern graphics, a perfect recipe for both new players and nostalgic fans.

4 million views already shows there’s a huge appetite for this! What do you all think they’ll change the most, story elements, gameplay mechanics, or maybe even the pacing? I’d love to hear everyone’s thoughts!

It’s kind of wild to see a remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica getting this much hype, especially with how many other remakes have come out recently. I mean, Code: Veronica has some of those classic survival horror vibes that really make it stand out, so I get the excitement, but it feels like a mixed bag. On one hand, I'm curious to see how they’ll modernize the mechanics and graphics. On the other, I can’t help but think about how many players might miss the original’s quirky charm.

I’d love to know if they’ll keep the same atmosphere or if they’ll take a more action-oriented approach. I’m more interested in how they handle the tension and resource management, since that’s what made the original so engaging. Any thoughts on what you hope they’ll change or keep the same?

I honestly can’t wait to see the toxic doom romance between Claire and Steve again in a modern remake. That whole dynamic was messy but it actually made the story hit harder. Steve acting all annoying at first and then slowly getting attached to Claire, it was not perfect but it felt real in a weird way. I still remember how hard that ending was when he died. That scene stayed in my head for a long time. It was not just a random character death, it felt like losing someone she actually connected with during all that chaos. Even if people joke about it now, at the time it really landed. Steve being Claire’s first love makes it even more painful in hindsight, because she barely got time to even process it before everything fell apart. I am curious if they will keep that emotional punch in the remake.

Yeah, I get what you mean. Claire’s story really feels like she keeps getting hit with that kind of emotional bad timing. Steve was her first real connection in that whole mess, even if it started off chaotic and awkward. Then just when it starts turning into something more human for her, it ends in a really rough way. That already leaves a mark.

And with Neil in Revelations, it almost repeats in a worse way. She opens up again, starts trusting someone, and then it flips into betrayal and that whole monster situation. It kind of reinforces that pattern where she never really gets a clean chance at a normal relationship.

It does make her feel like someone who just keeps moving forward but never really gets a stable moment with anyone. Even if the series doesn’t focus on romance, those two moments stand out because they both show her trying and losing it in very different ways.

Alfred and Alexia are honestly some of the most unhinged siblings in the whole series, and that’s exactly why they work so well. They’re not just evil, they’re theatrical about it in a way that feels almost exaggerated on purpose. That mix of obsession, control, and weird elegance makes them stand out even among other Resident Evil villains. I get why people love how campy they are, because they feel like they know they’re in a horror story and they’re still choosing to go even harder with it.

And yeah, seeing a younger Chris Redfield again in the RE Engine would actually be interesting. We usually see him in his more built, serious phase, so going back to that earlier version would feel like a different energy entirely. More reactive, less hardened. It would be a nice contrast to his later appearances and show how far he’s changed over time.

What I care about most is how they handle difficulty. The original was not always fair in a modern sense, especially with how much backtracking and resource pressure there was. That kind of design can feel frustrating now if it is not adjusted carefully. I hope they keep tension without turning it into something overly punishing. Survival horror works best when you feel pressure but still have room to plan your moves. If they get that balance right, this remake could actually become the version most people recommend going forward instead of the original.

I really hope this remake is a sign that Capcom has bigger plans for Claire going forward. She has been one of the most important characters in the series for years, but it feels like she has spent too much time on the sidelines compared to Chris and Leon. If Resident Evil Veronica does well, maybe it will remind Capcom how much fans still care about her.

Honestly, I would love to see Claire as the main star of Resident Evil 10. Her story still has room to grow, and it would be nice to have a mainline game focused on her again instead of using her mostly in remakes and side projects. Veronica was one of her biggest adventures, so bringing it back now makes me wonder if Capcom is preparing her for a larger role in the future. I think a lot of fans would be excited to see that happen.

From a game industry point of view, this is a smart move. Capcom has been doing well with remakes lately, and Code Veronica is a strong candidate because it has name value but also feels underplayed. It is not as mainstream as RE2 or RE4, so it brings something new to the remake lineup. If they modernize it properly, it can sell well to both old fans and new players. The only risk is overchanging it to match current trends too much. But overall, this looks like a solid project that can fill a long missing piece in the series history.

I played Code Veronica back on Dreamcast and later on Code Veronica X, so this news feels kind of personal. That game was not easy at all and it really made you think about every item you used. I remember getting stuck more than once just because I wasted ammo early. Even with those problems, I still remember the story clearly, especially Claire’s journey looking for Chris. Seeing Wesker again in that game was also a big moment back then. A remake could really help new players understand why people talk about it so much, because a lot of younger fans never touched the original version.
