The funny thing is Adult Swim airing this still feels strange to me. Every time I hear Adult Swim, I think of weird late-night comedy shows, not wholesome Superman stories. But honestly the show survived because of them, so I can’t complain too much. I remember when Cartoon Network started pushing aside action cartoons, and it felt like superhero animation was dying outside of anime. This series kind of brought back that old feeling of watching DC cartoons weekly. The clean animation and the brighter personality of Superman are refreshing now because almost every modern superhero project wants to be edgy. I think younger fans probably connect with this version of Clark more too because he actually acts nervous, excited, and awkward instead of acting like a perfect symbol all the time.
