Prepare To Rock With This Eddie Munson Flavored D&D Set

While much of the main cast of Stranger Things happen to be D&D enthusiasts, no one seemed to THROW themselves into it more than hard rocker Eddie Munson, breakout star of Season 4 and the latest new character to only live one season. It took a weirdly long time (long enough for us to start talking about Season 5), but Eddie finally has his own themed edition of the D&D set. I’ve mentioned in the past how weird it is that there’s no Stranger Things tabletop game. D&D came close in 2019 by offering a themed Starter Set that was just basically the game from Mike’s basement. You could not play AS the characters or play IN Hawkins, it was just a theme. Similarly, while this set recreates Eddie’s personal Dungeon Master creations, you cannot BE Eddie. On the plus side, this does fill out a bit of lore we’d never be able to see otherwise, since you play as the characters the participants roleplayed as. Plus it comes with a photo of the Hellfire Club! As a sad side note, Ozzy Osbourne died today. I’m sure Eddie would have a few things to say about him, if he hadn’t […]

I have played D&D for years, and I really liked Eddie in Stranger Things. He felt real to me. He was more than a stereotype. This set sounds interesting because it brings Eddie’s fantasy world to life. I like that the game is not just the “theme” again, but actual adventures that Eddie created. That makes it more personal. I do wish, though, that we could play as Eddie himself. That would have been a cool tribute. But at least we can now explore his ideas as a Dungeon Master. I hope the writing in the adventures shows Eddie’s personality—fun, chaotic, and smart. I’m also happy that it comes with a photo of the Hellfire Club. That’s a nice touch.

If I cannot play as Eddie or in Hawkins, then this set still feels halfway done. I like Stranger Things, but this is not enough. The adventures need to be deep, not just some quick missions. Also, I do not care about digital dice or stickers. I want real content, not decorations. I might wait to see reviews first before spending money.

I just started getting into Dungeons & Dragons, and Eddie was actually why. His energy made the game look cool. I’m not an expert player, but this might be a good way to try something new. Four adventures sound like enough to start with. Also, I love that it’s based on something the character made in the show. That makes it feel special, like you’re joining the Hellfire Club for real. I’m going to ask my friends if they want to try it with me in October.

I’m 47. I grew up with Ozzy and D&D. The same week they mention this game, Ozzy dies. Strange timing. Eddie Munson reminded me of guys I knew in high school—long hair, Metallica patches, not very popular but full of heart. It’s cool they finally honored him with this set. I just hope it’s not watered down. If the adventures really reflect Eddie’s dark and creative mind, it might be one of the most fun official sets. I’m buying this for the lore, not the digital stickers.

Okay, this is awesome. I don’t even play D&D that much, but I love Stranger Things and especially Eddie. I was waiting for something like this. I know it took a while, but now it’s here, and I’m definitely preordering. I want the Ultimate Edition with the digital stuff. I hope the sticker pack has something cool to use for my laptop. I also like that the box comes with a Hellfire Club photo. I’m going to display that. This is more than a game for me—it’s a collectible.

When Eddie died, I cried. It’s rare that a one-season character stays in your heart like that. So hearing that this new D&D set is based on his personal game makes me emotional. It’s like getting a piece of him back. I don’t even care if it’s perfect. I just want to read the adventures he “wrote” and imagine him leading the game. I think this is a beautiful tribute. Thank you, Wizards of the Coast.

Finally!!! Eddie gets something official! I’m so hyped. I watched Season 4 like three times. He made D&D look so fun. I even joined a D&D club at school because of him. Now I can play in his world? That’s amazing. I want to know what kind of adventures he made. Demodogs and murders? That sounds wild. I already told my group we are getting this. I hope it arrives before Halloween. We’re gonna dress up and do a full Hellfire night!
