“Queen for Seven Days” is a Korean drama series released in 2017, with 20 episodes, categorized as Romance, historical period, sageuk, costume and period; and streaming on Viki. TRUE STORY: Shin Chae-kyung became Queen Dangyeong. She married Grand Prince Jinseong. In 1506, when Prince Jinseong ascended to the throne, he became King Jungjong and Shin Chae-kyung became the queen. Just seven days later, she was deposed and expelled from the palace. Her father, Shin Su-geun, was implicated in a coup against King Jungjong, which led to her deposition. She remained deposed until her death in 1557. I adore historical fiction, especially based on real events. The political intrigue and family drama always keep me hooked. Thanks for the detailed breakdown, including the ratings. Viki and Dramabeans with such high scores are convincing.
 
Lost me at "treachery and treason." Korean dramas can get so melodramatic sometimes. Don't get me wrong, I love Park Min Young, but I need a show with a bit more balance. Maybe if the romance is strong enough, I could handle the heavy stuff.
 
A strong female lead facing a prophecy and political turmoil? Yes please! I love stories where women defy expectations and fight for what they believe in. Shin Chae-kyung sounds like a character I can root for

Even though I went in knowing The End, I was still impressed. Especially with the young actors who played the monarchs when they were kids.

Yeah. But the thing about the prophecy? I was like: Uuhh … you don't have to be a prophet to predict a bloodbath in Joseon royal family.
