Well, what did they expect? The first movie grossed over a billion because it appealed to a wide audience, not just comic book fans. Turning the sequel into a musical drastically narrowed its appeal. Theater kids will rather watch Wicked.

Okay, so I didn’t hate Folie A Deux as much as everyone else seems to. Was it a strange choice to turn a gritty, Oscar-winning film into a musical? Absolutely. But I have to admit, Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn was intriguing to watch, even if the movie itself felt disconnected from what made the first Joker so compelling.

Honestly, I kind of loved it? I know I’m in the minority here, but the musical numbers added this surreal, chaotic energy that made the Joker’s madness feel tangible. It’s definitely not for everyone, but if you’re into experimental storytelling, give it a chance. Gaga was incredible, as always!

I have zero interest in this. The first Joker worked because it was grounded and raw. Turning the sequel into a musical feels like such a weird, out-of-touch decision. Maybe it’ll gain a cult following someday, but it’s definitely not for me
