French independent studio WanadevStudio has just announced the pre-release of their strategy card game, Vestiges: Fallen Tribes. The beta version of the game is set to launch on Steam Early Access next month. Vestiges: Fallen Tribes takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where water has become so scarce that world wars have been fought over it. These wars decimated the human population so much that only pockets of communities still exist. War-weary, they agree to start settling their water disputes through card games instead of killing. Took ’em long enough. Victory in Vestiges: Fallen Tribes depends on the strength of […]

WanadevStudio is taking on an ambitious project with Vestiges: Fallen Tribes, and I’m here for it. The blend of strategy, a post-apocalyptic world, and card games is something I didn’t know I needed until now. I’m especially excited about the VR mode. I’ve been looking for new VR games to get into, and this one seems like it could really stand out from the usual fare. Early access gives me hope that they’ll be refining things as they go along, and community input should help steer the development in a good direction. I’m definitely adding this to my wishlist.

I’m a huge fan of card games, so this is right up my alley. The setting reminds me a bit of Mad Max, but with a more cerebral approach to conflict resolution, which I find really refreshing. The fact that they’re launching with most features intact is a good sign. Early Access can be a great opportunity to shape a game’s future, and it sounds like WanadevStudio is serious about listening to player feedback. I’m interested to see how the VR mode plays out too. If they nail that immersive experience, this could be a standout title in both the card game and VR spaces.

It’s a unique concept, but what really excites me is the opportunity to be part of the community shaping this game. WanadevStudio seems genuinely invested in player feedback, and that’s a big deal for me. I’ve been burned by early access games that ignored their player base, so hearing that they’ll be actively listening gives me hope. The VR mode is just icing on the cake—I’m curious to see how it all comes together. I’ll be keeping an eye on this one

I’ve always been drawn to unique storytelling approaches in games, and Vestiges: Fallen Tribes sounds like it has potential. The post-apocalyptic angle is well-worn, but the concept of resolving major conflicts through card games feels like a fresh twist. I’m interested to see how deep the story will go, and how much of the world’s history will be explored through the game’s mechanics. VR integration could be a game-changer if done right, but even without it, a well-crafted strategy card game can be a lot of fun. I’m cautiously optimistic about this one.
