Seriously, who thought live-action was a good idea? The charm of Minecraft is in its simplicity. It's like playing with digital Legos! The movie looks like they tried to make a realistic version of a pixelated world. That's just... weird. I'm hoping the gameplay is at least fun, but I'm not holding my breath.

The live-action thing just looks weird. I mean, Minecraft is all about the pixelated blocks and cute characters. Making it look like a normal movie is a big mistake. The trailer doesn't capture the fun and excitement of the game. I was hoping for something more faithful to the original.
The characters look like they're from a different movie. They don't feel like the Minecraft characters I know and love. Jack Black seems like a strange choice for Steve. He just doesn't fit the role. And the other characters look out of place too. It's like they're trying too hard to make it look cool and realistic.

It seems like we've seen this plotline a million times before. It's another one of those 'characters from the real world end up in a different world and spend the whole movie trying to get back home while fighting against an evil group that is in their way/wants to stop them' type of movie, isn't it? I'm getting a bit tired of these kinds of stories. I'm hoping the Minecraft Movie can offer something fresh and original.
