Last summer, Free League ran a crowdfunding campaign for Moria, the latest expansion to their The One Ring and LOTR Roleplaying games. Looks like it’s almost ready: the tabletop publisher has opened preorders for anyone who didn’t pledge to the campaign, and set an August 1 release date for the game. Two versions of Moria will be produced: one for The One Ring, which runs on Free League’s engine, and one for Lord Of The Rings Roleplaying, the One Ring variant which is 5E compatible. To make them easier to tell apart, the One Ring version of Moria will be subtitled Through The Doors Of Durin and the LOTR Roleplaying version will be subtitled Shadow of Khazad-dûm. And At The Gates, The Trumpets Rang: Rivals, allies and patrons in the quest for Moria, as well as a history of the Dwarven city from its founding to its fall. Journeys in the Dark: Journey rules adjusted for underground exploration, Moria-specific Undertakings, and advice on running games and campaigns set in the

OMG! Moria is FINALLY coming out! I backed the Kickstarter last year and I've been refreshing Free League's website like crazy. Those new journey rules for underground adventures sound awesome - perfect for finally tackling that epic dwarf campaign I've been planning. And can we talk about the chance to face Durin's Bane? So hyped!

This is a must-buy for any Tolkien nerd like me. I can't wait to delve into the history of Moria, from its glorious founding to its tragic downfall. The section on the different regions sounds particularly interesting - imagine exploring the abandoned Dwarven mansions! This expansion will be a goldmine for creating super flavorful campaigns

Moria, huh? Now that brings back memories. I remember running a one-shot campaign through Moria back in the day, using a cobbled-together mess of rules from different systems. This official expansion from Free League is exactly what we needed back then! Those pre-written encounters and hazards will be a godsend for DMs who want to capture the feel of Moria without spending hours prepping. And the lore section? Sign me up. Can't wait to brush up on my Dwarven history. This is a must-buy for any LOTR fan who enjoys tabletop RPGs.

Moria isn't just a location, it's a feeling. A feeling of claustrophobic dread, of whispering shadows and forgotten dangers. This expansion has the potential to really capture that atmosphere at the table. I can't wait to weave a narrative around the players' journey through the ruins, using the encounters and landmarks as springboards for my own storytelling. Maybe even foreshadow the lurking threat of Durin's Bane... just a hint, enough to plant a seed of fear in the players' minds. This expansion is a treasure trove for DMs who want to craft a truly immersive roleplaying experience.

Another expansion? Feels like they're milking this game for all it's worth. I like The One Ring, but I already have a bunch of other sourcebooks. Maybe I'll wait for some reviews before I decide.
