Bundling is a smart move for Nintendo, especially with the rising prices. They've been really good at creating value with their bundles before, like the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe pack. It makes it easier for people to jump in, especially those who might be on the fence about getting a Switch 2.

I wonder if they'll include some of the newer titles or even classics that haven't gotten as much love lately. What do you think would be a good game to bundle with it? I'd love to see a package with Breath of the Wild or some of the indie gems that really shine on the platform!

Sports Resort bundle timing feels random to me. Releasing a bundle same day as the game with no proof people actually want it is a gamble. Pokopia bundle came out after the game already sold well, that made more sense as a business move. This one just seems like Nintendo hoping momentum carries it. I would rather wait and see reviews before committing money to a console bundled with an unproven game.

Honestly $50 increase is not that bad compared to what other companies are doing lately. I was planning to buy Switch 2 next month anyway but I guess I will move my schedule up. The Mario Kart bundle looks decent too because you get three months of online for basically nothing extra. Nintendo giving more than a month notice is actually respectful, most companies just raise prices without telling anyone until you check the store page. This is actually smart marketing if you think about it. Instead of eating the cost increase completely, Nintendo spreads it out through bundles that still feel like value to the buyer. Three months of online plus a full game for $549 does look better than paying full price separately. I do wonder how many people already own Mario Kart World though, since that was one of the biggest launch titles. For new buyers this makes total sense but for returning fans it might not add anything new.

The price increase does not bother me as much as I expected. $50 is not nothing, but compared with some of the other console price increases, it could have been worse. I actually think the bundles are a smart move from Nintendo. Mario Kart World makes sense because people already know they want it. The Sports Resort one is harder to judge. I would not buy a console just because a new sports game is included. I would probably wait for reviews and see what people are saying after launch. If I was already planning to buy a Switch 2, though, I would look at the bundle instead of buying the game separately. The savings are not huge, but they add up. For someone buying the console anyway, getting a game included is always better than getting nothing.

Whether people actually save money depends on if they wanted those specific games anyway, otherwise its just extra cost disguised as value.

For me, the biggest problem is the timing. If Nintendo already knew the price was going up, I would rather they make the bundles available before the increase. Then people could actually choose between buying the console alone or getting a bundle. Instead, the basic console gets more expensive first, and then the bundles arrive afterward. I understand why they are doing it, but it still feels designed to push people toward spending more. I do think Mario Kart World is a good choice for a bundle because it has a clear audience. Sports Resort is harder because we do not know how strong the demand will be. I would wait on that one. If the game turns out to be great, I can always buy it later.
