I just stumbled upon this thread discussing what literature might look like if RPGs had existed throughout history. It's full of hilarious scenarios and clever twists, imagining classic works as if they had RPG mechanics. I mean, can you picture Beowulf with character sheets? Qapla'!

Imagining classic literature with RPG mechanics? Now that's a concept I can get behind! Beowulf as a tabletop character would be epic, can you imagine the rage-induced combat skills he'd have? "Grendel Slayer" might even be a legendary item!

I love the idea of incorporating stats and character sheets into these timeless tales. It really makes you think about the choices the characters could have made differently with tools like skill checks and advantage rolls. Do you have a favorite literary character you think would translate well to a TTRPG format? Maybe we should create a mash-up campaign based on some of these ideas!
