Sounds like Marvel's pulled together a pretty interesting new cast for X-Men 2028. Hopefully, they give these actors enough room to really embody their roles instead of just drowning them in CGI and forgettable plots. With the X-Men's reputation for depth and character-driven stories, it'd be a shame to waste that potential.

I'm especially curious about how they'll tackle the themes that have been pivotal in the comics, like acceptance and diversity. Those elements have always set the X-Men apart. Do you think they'll keep the darker tone that's made the franchise resonate, or go for something lighter to fit into the current MCU vibe?

I actually got emotional seeing Zann and Sealy-Smith show up for Navarrette and Boyd. That kind of passing the torch almost never happens in Hollywood, usually its just silence or awkward pr statements. It tells me Marvel understands what this franchise means to people who grew up on the animated series. Now the pressure is on Schreier to actually deliver a team dynamic and not just seven cool actors standing around waiting for their turn to talk. Thunderbolts gave me some hope since he handled a big cast without losing anyone in the shuffle. Costumes better be comic accurate too, im tired of black leather.

Kit Connor has range people keep sleeping on. Watch Warfare before you judge his casting.

Why is nobody talking about Christopher Abbott. Dude is going to cook as Xavier, mark my words, he doesnt need to copy Stewart or McAvoy at all.

honestly just happy we finally get a real team movie instead of another wolverine solo movie pretending to be an ensemble. give storm her lightning give cyclops his visor and let jean actually be jean grey not just a plot device for once. this cast has potential if they write for the characters instead of writing around them, my only worry is runtime because seven leads is a lot to balance

Sadie Sink already did the hard part in Brand New Day so this feels like a formality at this point, she earned the role before the role even started filming.

not gonna lie the casting choices feel very safe except sinister, everything else reads like a marvel checklist honestly

I am really curious about Emma Frost here. Samara Weaving is a good choice because she can play someone who is charming while still making you wonder what she is actually thinking. Emma does not need to be a straight villain either. I think having her disagree with Xavier would be much more interesting.

I am glad Marvel is starting with the classic school setup. I know some people will say we have already seen Xavier’s mansion, but I do not mind seeing it again. The school is one of the things that makes X-Men different from most superhero teams.

I like that Jean is the main character for this version. It makes sense because she can be the person discovering Xavier's school and the other mutants at the same time. I also like that they are not rushing Wolverine into the first movie. We have seen so much Wolverine already that giving Cyclops, Storm, Rogue, and Jean more room feels better to me. Adam Driver as Mister Sinister is probably the casting choice I am most curious about. He can play strange and serious characters without making them feel too cartoonish. I also wonder how much Emma Frost will actually be involved because Samara Weaving could do a lot with that role. The 2028 date feels far away, but at least Marvel seems to have a clear plan now. I am mainly hoping they let the X-Men story stand on its own instead of making every scene about the Avengers.
