"Hexed" really captured that balance between humor and heart that Disney does so well. I loved how Hailee Steinfeld brought her character to life with such warmth and charm. I really like the idea of the pen and the journal being the sidekicks. Feels different from the usual talking animal setup Disney always goes with. Hailee Steinfeld voicing another young girl finding her powers is kind of her whole brand at this point but she is good at it so no complaints from me. Hoping the mother daughter part does not feel forced like it sometimes does in these movies.

I like that the story is focused on a mother and daughter instead of only saving the world. That part caught my attention more than the magic. Billie sounds like someone who is still trying to understand herself, and I think that makes her easier to relate to. The magical world also sounds fun without feeling too complicated. Hailee Steinfeld is usually a good choice for voice acting, so I think she can make Billie feel natural. I also like that the movie seems to mix comedy with emotional moments. Disney has made a lot of fantasy movies before, but this one feels a little different because of the witch theme. Billie discovering everything with the audience makes it more fun than having a character who already knows everything. The relationship with her mother is another thing I'm looking forward to because family stories usually give these movies more heart. I just hope the villain is memorable because that can really make or break an adventure film for me.
