OK. I'll admit it. I do like the male leads. But that's not why I watched the movie! LOL. 😂

The situation in this movie feels very unfair from the start. A killer can just wait and then speak freely because the law cannot touch him anymore. That idea alone is enough to make the story intense. The man who wrote the book comes across as too confident, almost like he enjoys the attention. That makes it hard to believe him fully. The detective feels more grounded, even if he is struggling. His frustration is easy to understand. The moment when another person claims to be the real killer changes everything. It creates doubt and tension at the same time. Nothing feels certain anymore. The families taking action also feels realistic, even if it crosses legal lines. When the system fails, people react. This story shows that clearly without trying to soften it.

The emotional weight in this story is very noticeable. The detective carries guilt for many years, and it shows in how he acts. He does not look like someone who found peace. The families also carry anger that never went away. When the man publishes his book, it feels like he is reopening their wounds. That reaction makes sense. The twist with another person claiming to be the killer adds more pressure to everyone involved. It turns the situation into something unstable. No one can relax or feel certain anymore. That is what keeps the story strong. It focuses on how people deal with unresolved pain instead of just solving a mystery.

The concept of time is very important here. Years pass, but the impact of the crimes does not fade. The law moves on, but the people involved do not. That contrast is very clear. The detective is stuck in the past, and the families are still affected. The man who confesses seems to use time to his advantage. That creates tension. When another person claims to be the real killer, it shows that time did not resolve anything. It only made things more complicated. The story uses that idea well. It shows that some problems do not disappear just because time passes.

I agree. What nonsense! Putting a statute of limitations on a murder? That makes no sense! To me, it's just proof of how inadequate human justice systems are.
