Our First Real Look At Spider-Man: Brand New Day

I actually like that Peter is still struggling after five years. For me it feels more real. Not everything gets fixed fast, even in superhero stories. Him still thinking about how to tell MJ and Ned makes sense because that is not an easy thing to say. If someone told me we had a past together, I would not believe it right away. I also think him still making mistakes as Spider-Man is fine. He is young and learning never really stops. The Man-Spider idea is interesting but also a bit strange. I hope they explain it clearly and not just use it for shock value. The crossover with Punisher and The Hand sounds exciting, but I worry it might be too crowded. I prefer when the story stays focused on Peter and his personal problems first.

Straight up, this feels like the movie we should’ve gotten right after No Way Home. Peter starting over, new threats, old enemies returning. The Man-Spider tease is wild but I’m here for it. Punisher showing up just to get told off by Spider-Man is perfect. The Hand fight at the end gave me chills. This might actually be good.

Not gonna lie I’m hyped. Peter still hiding his identity from MJ and Ned after all this time feels painful but honest. The transformation stuff looks creepy in a good way. Scorpion is back, Punisher cameo, The Hand, maybe Jean Grey? They packed a lot in this trailer. As long as they don’t ruin the character again I’m all in for Brand New Day.

I am honestly more interested in the mystery of Sadie Sink’s role than anything else. The rumor about Jean Grey sounds big, maybe too big. If they bring X-Men elements, it can change everything for Spider-Man. I just hope they do not create expectations they cannot meet. About Peter, I think his situation is sad but also a bit repetitive now. I want to see him build new friendships, not only try to bring back the old ones. The action with The Hand sounds intense, so I expect better fight scenes this time. I also like that the same writers are back, because at least the tone will feel consistent.

I am excited but also careful with my expectations. The trailer shows many ideas, maybe too many. Man-Spider, Punisher, The Hand, Scorpion, mystery character, and Peter’s personal life. That is a lot for one movie. I prefer when a film focuses on one main problem. Still, I think Tom Holland can carry the role well. He is good at showing confusion and emotion. I also like that Bruce Banner is part of the story. A teacher role for him is something new. I just hope the story feels connected and not like different pieces put together.

Five years later and Peter still hasn’t figured out how to tell MJ and Ned “hey remember me, we used to be besties”? Bro is stuck in the same loop. Then he wakes up wrapped in his own web like a burrito and starts panicking about which body part shot it out. Punisher shows up and Peter immediately becomes a walking swear jar. I’m dying. This is gonna be ridiculous.

I’m not gonna lie, I’m a little disappointed. Five whole years and Peter’s life is still a mess. Still hiding secrets, still getting yeeted by random cars twice in the trailer. Now he’s turning into Man-Spider? My guy woke up in a web cocoon and immediately regretted every decision. At least Bruce Banner is his teacher now, maybe he can grade the spider mutation on a curve. Punisher cameo better be funn

I don’t know how to feel. Trailer has cool moments but the “he still hasn’t told them” plot is getting ancient. Peter getting hit by cars twice made me laugh harder than it should. Then the whole turning into giant spider thing, my dude is one bad night away from growing eight legs. Punisher cameo where Peter scolds his language is the highlight. Hope they don’t make the mutation last too long.
