Walt Disney and Pixar brought everyone back for the new Toy Story, including Randy Newman for the Toy Story 5 soundtrack.

I’m really excited to hear that Randy Newman is back for Toy Story 5! His music has always been such an integral part of the series, capturing the essence of those characters and their journeys. The combination of Pixar's storytelling and Newman's melodies always hits home. I hope we get another iconic song like "You've Got a Friend in Me." What are your thoughts on the direction they might take with the storyline this time around?

Finally some good news in 2026. Randy Newman coming back is huge. His songs always hit right in the feelings, especially when the toys are saying goodbye or figuring stuff out. With Tom Hanks and Tim Allen still there too, this feels like real Toy Story again. The story about Bonnie’s tablet sounds a bit sad but super real for today’s kids. I’m actually excited instead of worried for once.

Randy Newman is the only reason I still listen to the old Toy Story songs. “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” never gets old. Good to hear he’s doing the score again. Hope they let him write at least one new full song with lyrics. The cast list looks solid, even Keanu Reeves is back as Duke Caboom. Can’t wait to see what they do with the tech angle.

I am curious about the tablet character. A frog-shaped device named Lilypad sounds like something Pixar would design. I wonder if the tablet will act like a character or if it will just be an object that distracts Bonnie. If it has a personality, that could create some funny situations with the toys. But if it is just a device, the story might focus more on how the toys feel about being ignored. That idea actually feels a little sad to me. The Toy Story movies are always about loyalty and friendship, so seeing the toys compete with technology could create emotional moments. I also like that the directors and writers returning have experience with Pixar stories. That gives me some confidence. Pixar sometimes takes risks with ideas, and sometimes those risks turn into something very meaningful.
